Firm History

Baskin, McCarroll, McCaskill & Campbell was started by William A. “Bill” Baskin and John R. McCarroll, III in DeSoto County, Mississippi, and was originally a satellite office of the firm of Holcomb Dunbar, based in Oxford, Mississippi. The office first opened for business in 1993. At that time, DeSoto County was small but poised for rapid growth. As the population of DeSoto County grew exponentially, business activity in DeSoto County boomed as well. The firm also grew, adding more lawyers and a variety of practice areas.

In 2005 the Southaven office split off from Holcomb Dunbar and commenced operation under its present name. The firm also moved to its present location. Unfortunately, in July of 2005, the firm lost one of its founding members, Bill Baskin, to cancer.

Currently the firm has ten attorneys and provides a wide range of services, from relatively minor personal injury cases to complex litigation in both federal and state courts. The firm contains a residential and commercial real estate section, and also provides a full range of business and transactional services. Baskin McCarroll also has a labor and employment law section which focuses on the issues and concerns of North Mississippi businesses.
